In fact since in our care we have probably done a good 500 plus miles in it. I would have no issues in driving this car anywhere. The car is an utter dream to drive and is by far the best driving Mopar ( or in fact any classic car ) we have owned. Since we have had the car we have fitted a Petronix electronic ignition and a High Torque starter just to make it a little more useable and reliable. The engine runs faultlessly and the gearbox shifts as it should. This one is fitted with the 225 cu in Slant 6 that is mated to a 3 speed automatic box with Pushbutton selector on the dash ( returns about 28 mpg on a run ). The Dart GT came with the option of Chrysler's bulletproof Slant 6 engine or the 273 cu in V8. The interior is fitted with the original bucket seats ( one of the standard GT fittings ) but they have started to rip and to make the interior perfect would benefit from new covers. It has been finished to a very high standard and not the usual ' drive in drive out' American respray. It is in excellent and original condition having had a respray at sometime in the past.

We were so impressed with its condition we purchased it from him. This particular example was imported into the UK from New JerseyВ in February of this year by one of our clients. The GT was the top of the line model in the Dart for 1963. But, the owner makes no mention of the engine being original so it must have been pulled and painted.We are proud to offer for sale this gorgeous and rare example of a 1963 Dodge Dart GT. As original as this car may be, there is no way that the engine paint can be original, especially after looking at the crusty radiator.

The Dart offered both sizes of six-cylinder engines in 1963 as well as a 273 V8, which is unquestionably a more valuable asset to have under the hood. One of our readers may know which one it is by looking at it. This is the famous slant-six, but there is no mention as to whether itвЂ™s a 225 or a 170 slant-six.

But, other than that the interior looks great. It looks like thereвЂ™s something going on with the driverвЂ™s seat, but that can be fixed, and it looks like there are a couple of cracks in the dash top. The previous generation Dart was my favorite design, by far, but I like things a little busy and odd compared to most people. 1963 is the first year of the third-generation Dodge Dart and it was a sales success over its predecessor, the Lancer. The seller says that it has a brand new top.

Well, thereвЂ™s a dent, but other than that it looks like itвЂ™s in great shape. The asking price isВ $6,300 and it looks like itвЂ™s in great shape with 56,000 original miles. This 1963 Dodge Dart GT convertible is in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, California.
